Favourite Stupid Reporting

As often pointed out in this group, journalists and editors write dumb
things about aviation (and many other subjects).
My all-time favourite was in the SMH some years ago when there was a
solar eclipse. It was reported that because it got dark for several
minutes, aircraft had to circle Mascot Airport until it was light
again.
Can anyone top that?

All journalism schools should teach a session on the correct meaning
of "stall"!! They get it wrong every time.

I'm not surprised. If you ever have the chance to talk to a group of
journalism students, you find they know who is shacked up with who or
what in Hollywood and who is the flavour of the month entertainer, but
when it comes to general knowledge of anything technical, they just
don't have a clue. Sadly, they occasionally become the talking head
fronting a prime time programme and they still don't know anything
more than what they knew when they were students.
