First reports are that pilot & 4 pax rescued from an a/c that put out a
Mayday before going for a swim about 100m offshore after lunch.

In my recent experience there, all a/c were low wing which I suppose are
more friendly to ditch, but good on the pilot anyway.

From the time and distance it sounds like it might've been an engine failure
on t/o.

It was the pilot's first day on the job. She did well to get everyone down
safely.
