I've had to use them on One world round the world tickets for travel
within Asia, or the other choices have been even worse (like Korean or
Garuda). Nothing wrong with the KE service, but you do worry about
when they are going to wreck another airplane. On Garuda, you're never
sure any of it is in a proper state of repair.

Our agent in HK used to repair their sim's, and they didn't call him
out for anything minor. It had to have completely died before they had
anything fixed. They'd send him a prepaid Garuda Business Class
Ticket, and he'd return the ticket, along with a bill for a Business
class ticket on CX with his invoices!.

. My first experience with CX involved an oversale in the F cabin in
the 1980's... They then proceeded to endorse the involuntary downgrade
on the wrong ticket, which made getting the refund very difficult. I
specifically booked some flights to try out new aircraft, like the
A330 a couple time, only to have them replaced with antique L-1011's
that definitely had seen better days.

The food has always been very ordinary, and I haven't yet figured out
why out of the last 10 or so widebody trips I took, only one 90 minute
sector was a long haul aircraft, while the 9 hour flight was on short
haul aircraft. My experiences with CX have all been very very
ordinary. Service in the Premium cabin has been about on par with
Domestic First class Service in the USA, and for a culture where
service is a honorable profession, it's been very disappointing.

While I have had some lousy QF and BA trips, I have also had some
great ones.
