Pretty impressive if it's not faked.

(you can never tell, these days - I thought a B737 water ditching was real til
it was pointed out on here that it wasn't ...)

Three attempts and still not down. God must be getting pretty peeved
about how his terror weapon is so ineffective these days.

It's similar in appearance to this one:

If they're faked, I don't really see the point, given that we know that
lightening does strike aircraft, and that they're designed to survive it.

What would the effect have been had it been struck while still on the
ground?

If strikes to cars are any guide, probably a few burst tyres - certainly
all the tyres would be electrically stressed and should be replaced.

I'm sure they suffer 'bite marks' on a regular basis - even without
lightning.

A lightning strike to a plane would be particularly hazardous after I'd been
quietly pumping methane into the seat cushion for 7 hours.

Makes me wonder whether an aircraft is attached to the airbridge by a
earth wire while at a gate.

(I was going to use the term "grounded", but what with the media....)
