Anyone catch this ? 16 august.
THE pilot of a light aircraft escaped injury when it crash landed at
Sydney's Bankstown Airport today.
The male pilot was alone aboard the two-seater Cessna 152 when its
landing gear failed on touchdown about 8.30am (AEST).
Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) spokesman Peter Gibson said the
aircraft, owned by a flying school at the airport, was on a training flight.
"Apparently the aircraft was coming in for a landing or a touch-and- go
... pretty standard sort of exercises,'' Mr Gibson said.
"It may have been hit by a gust of cross winds. The nose landing gear
collapsed and the aircraft came to a grinding halt.''
Paramedics at the airstrip confirmed the pilot was uninjured.
The CASA will prepare a report into the crash.
