Dies ist meine Besprechung von "Greater than the Sum" von Christopher L.
Bennett. Es ist eine Weiterfuehrung von TNG Relaunch aber gleichzeitig
das "lead-in" (also die Grundlage) fuer die kommende "Destiny" Trilogie.
S P O I L E R
“Greater than the Sum” has been announced as the lead-in to the probably
biggest Trek literature event so far, the “Destiny” series as well as
numerous related books. That alone made me very curious from early on.
But I was also curious how the author would deal with the aftermath of
previous books, especially of “Before Dishonor”. A lead-in book into a
big event has to provide the basics on which such a story event can
build and what happened in “Before Dishonor” didn`t make that an easy task.
I think Christopher L. Bennett did the best that was possible although
it was not always convincing to me. A lot of it smelled of damage
control and finding excuses. It worked best in the case of Kadohata...

Dies ist meine Besprechung von "Fearful Symmetry" von Olivia Woods. Nach
langer Wartezeit ist dies der neueste Band der DS9 Relaunch Serie.

After I was left with a multiple Kira storyline and confused about which
Iliana Ghemor is which after “Warpath”, for the first time I wasn`t
looking forward to the next DS9 Relaunch book because I learned before
getting it that “Fearful Symmetry” is indeed mainly following part of
the multiple Kira story, namely the Iliana Ghemor confusion.
To my big surprise, I enjoyed the book from the beginning and now that I
have finished it I must say, it is excellent. I was very close to skip
the book but now I am very glad that I gave it the chance...

Dies ist meine Besprechung des zweiten Bandes der Terok Nor Trilogie:
Night of the Wolves von S.D. Perry und Britta Dennison
S P O I L E R
After reading the excellent book “Day of the Vipers” I was looking
forward to the next Terok Nor book. The first book felt a bit more
polished to me and has a stronger impact because it felt like one big
story. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this book very much, too. I understand
that this book and also the next one are more about filling gaps the TV
series left than the first book which changes the nature of the story
telling somewhat. I think the two authors definitely succeeded doing
that. I haven`t watched DS9 for quite a long time and when reading I
often wondered what is actually new and what has been shown or just
mentioned on screen. But what counts is that I never felt lost and had
no trouble to follow the story or better, stories in this book.
Also this book looks at the occupation from various perspectives. I
think it was important to point out that the Bajoran resistance fighters
are not all heroes worth admiring. It is true that extreme...

Ich denke, frueher oder spaeter kommen die neuen Star Trek Comics von
IDW auch in Deutsch heraus und da mir New Frontier besonders am Herzen
liegt bespreche ich die Serie auch hier, bzw. kopiere ich hier meine
englischsprachigen Besprechungen.
Turnaround ist eine fuenfbaendige New Frontier Comicreihe. Autor ist
Peter David. Der Zeichner ist Stephen Thompson. In den USA aber auch
hier in England erschien gerade der erste Band. Jeden Monat kommt ein
neuer Band heraus.
Dies ist meine Besprechung des ersten Heftes:
I got the first issue a few days after my birthday but nevertheless, I
consider it to be my best present I got this year. Being a big fan of
New Frontier, I have been looking forward to more of this series for a
while now and that this story is a continuation of the so far latest NF
novel is something I welcomed a lot. On top of that, the very first New
Frontier comic by Wildstorm is my top favourite comic book and getting
the continuation in the form of a limited series in comic form was very
exciting news to me.
