Job Description Undergrauate or Graduate Engineering Student. This position will equip students with a meaningful internship that will develop their business skills. Student should be enrolled in an accredited 4-year degree program entering their Junior or Senior year (or graduate school). Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong communication skills a must. Mechanical or Biomedical Engineer Intern Remake of a hearing aid due to poor fit in the customers ear is a significant concern in our business. These poor fit issues are: "too tight", "too loose", "canal too long", "canal too short", and "instrument sticks out". It would be beneficial to find a better way to check the remade hearing aid against the one returned by the customer before invoicing it out. The selected intern will be involved in a project to reduce Remakes due to fit issues (Scanning of Returned Hearing Aids). Scope of Project: 1. Identify ways to scan the surface of a returned hearing aid. 2. Analyze through color mapping whether there are differences between the remade order and the returned hearing aid. 3. Create guidelines and work instructions for use in manufacturing that will ensure that the customer complaint is satisfied. 4. Follow up on real orders and verify that they do not get returned for poor fit again. Required Skills/Experience: - Experience with 3d tools or graphical evaluation. - Strong statistical background would be a plus but not required.
