SPAN OF CONTROL: Global (Technology in New York, New Jersey supporting a trading business with primary locations in New York, London, Edinburgh and Singapore) DEVELOPMENT: A Senior programmer analyst is required with a focus on Corporate Actions process, product and technology automation. Intimate familiarity will be gained of the Corporate Actions processing business, the supporting processes and supporting technologies. The candidate will also be required to work with our partners in the data-warehouse business and other areas in an effort to leverage synergies between the separate business and support groups. BUSINESS OVERVIEW XSP is a best in class corporate action processing platform offering extensive workflow capability, robust data management tools, industry standard notification ability and comprehensive voluntary response tracking. XSP processes and matches corporate action announcements to account, security and position information it collects from various financial processing systems in GTS. Business rules are set for each corporate action type to assemble the best possible information from the numerous vendors supplying corporate action data. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The candidate will work closely with project leads to assist in the development, testing and support of complex, business critical system solutions and minor development projects. These would include the XSP upgrade, operational enhancements and SWIFT processing enhancements to the XSP system. The candidate will be expected to assist in production support coverage of the XSP System including monitoring and coordination of disaster recovery tests. EXPECTED OUTCOMES: In 12 months, the candidate would have been a key contributor in the delivery on time and within budget of key business solutions. The candidate should be fully integrated into the development team and build a strong working relationship with the clients. They should also display sufficient understanding of the business processes and projects to identify opportunities to leverage common technologies in order to enhance system delivery. KEY CHALLENGES: Profitability in this line of business is directly related to sound technology. The complexity of the product offering and the level of customization required for each individual client can be cost prohibitive if not handled within a strong technical framework. The challenge is to develop flexible solutions in a timely manner to realize business opportunities as soon as possible and reuse existing development to optimize project delivery and cost effectiveness.
Specifications / Qualifications
- The Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience with distributed environment technology (UNIX and NT based); - Excellent Java, C24, WINTEL, UNIX, shell scripting, client-server GUI (VB ) technology and excellent MS SQL skills required. - Client delivery methods SWIFT, MQ, Autosys are a plus. - Development experience with Ab initio or ETL tools is a plus. - Knowledge or experience with trading / financial applications is a plus. - Experience in a data warehouse or complex data environment is desirable. - Analytical Skills - Understanding of one or more of the following business processes, Corporate Actions processing, securities business, custody, collateral management, settlements. - Must have excellent writing, oral and organizational skills. - High degree of agility, personal accountability and autonomy expected.
