http://www.medco.com Position Overview: Medco has created the position of Director, Marketing Insights to address the companys expanding use of consumer and business research. The companys new strategic platform will require world-class capabilities in member engagement, B2C and B2B branding and marketing as well as the ability to monitor the ongoing effectiveness of a wide variety of marketing investments across the enterprise. To achieve success, there is a need for highly effective market research designed to understand member and client wants, needs and perceptions. The volume and complexity of the companys marketing activities requires the services of dedicated professionals who can oversee all market research efforts, ensure their quality and integrity and help apply findings to advance Company goals. As such, the Director will address the profound need for market-based insights around new initiatives such as My Rx Choices, Therapeutic Resource Centers and Personalized Health and for reactions to new advertising campaigns behind Medicare and the Medco brand. Reporting to the Senior Director, Market Insights, this individual will be responsible for generating insights into member, client and physician attitudes and behavior and guiding strategic and tactical marketing decision-making. The Director, Market Insights will identify gaps in the companys knowledge base and advise others in accessing market-based information, recommend appropriate research designs and manage Medcos relationships with external market research vendors. He/she will be responsible for the quality of the research conducted and will ensure the completeness and accuracy of vendor-generated reports. This is a highly visible position that will influence marketing initiatives. He/she will partner with key constituents within the company to drive sound marketing and strategic decisions. Key Challenges/Job Complexity: . Capacity to grasp business drivers and key success metrics across the enterprise . Ability to juggle multiple projects across a diverse set of products, issues and stakeholders . Sensitivity to client needs and ability to present effectively to all levels in the company including senior management as well as directly to clients . Analytical skills necessary to provide counsel and solve problems on complex multi-functional initiatives . Ability to distill qualitative and quantitative data into meaningful conclusions and recommendations . Prudent use of company resources to get the most out of market research investments General responsibilities: . Provide leadership for Medcos Member and Client Satisfaction Survey . Specify the design of qualitative and quantitative research . Ensure the integrity of conclusions derived from all market research efforts . Manage relationships with vendors . Manage Market Insights overall budget Specific areas for immediate involvement: . Manage critical survey processes including member satisfaction (08 budget $1.0 million+) and Voice of the Customer . Determine and drive effectiveness of member engagement initiatives across multiple touchpoints, including My Rx Choices and Specialty (Therapeutic Resource Center) . Provide enhanced understanding of the Senior Solutions market to increase program effectiveness . Provide market research support as needed for other Medco products
