Description: PACS Workstation & Archive Administrator Aug 6, 2008 Staten Island, New York Return to Search Results|Send job to a friend Description: Our customer located in Staten Island, NY is currently seeking an outgoing, PACS Workstation and Archive Administrator for this full-time position with benefits. Administrator must be professional and have excellent communication skills. Here are the skills and responsibilities needed: • Responsible for all PACS workstations and the PACS archive • Makes sure monitors are set up and calibrated properly • Periodically check monitors for calibration conformance and white level, documents all results. • Arranges for monitor replacements when needed • Builds the hardware and loads the software of new workstations, for both technologists and radiologists • Troubleshoots workstation problems, including problems with monitors, mice, keyboards and microphones • Maintains an inventory of equipment, their network IDs and locations • Checks the archive queue and the archival status of all exams to make sure their ends up being 3 copies of all exams in a timely fashion. • Ensures that the PACS and Archive databases are backed up regularly • Makes sure all exams get verified in a timely fashion, investigates why exams go unverified • Monitors disk space utilization of Radiology and Cardiology on NAS. • Responsible for ensuring that logs are kept of all user access to PACS (through the ISU and pacsweb). Monitors for gaps in logging, helps develop the tools used to access the logs. • Troubleshoots system issues for all users, including technologists, administrators and radiologists • Documents support issues into the hospital’s issue tracking system (IBM e-Support Management) • Reports application errors to GE as appropriate, update them and escalates them as necessary • Remote doctors: • Maintain their computers, monitors, VPN connections and remote access • Address special needs of overseas radiologists • I-ELCAP Linux VM for cancer research with Cornell on VMWare. • Test server infrastructure (Hyper-V) (Adding machines and editing configurations).
