Other duties may be assigned. Service - includes plant maintenance, fiber optic equipment, trouble shooting, splicing coax. Field Engineering - includes sweeping, balancing, activation, splicing coax cable and fiber optic cable, maintaining and supporting RF and fiber optic transport and delivery systems. Headend Engineering - includes headend maintenance, earth station maintenance, splicing coax and fiber optic cable, maintaining and supporting RF and fiber optic transport and delivery systems. Construction - includes placing and maintaining above and below ground coax and fiber optic distribution systems, splicing coax and fiber optic cable. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to read and interpret system design prints. Knowledge of the operation of cable fault locating equipment. Basic knowledge of computers, including Windows. Familiarity with operation of Field Strength meter, Spectrum analyzers, and volt OHM meters. Ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs. Ability to use a 26 foot extension ladder. Flexibility to work varying shifts, days and schedules, depending on the assignment and the needs of the company. Availability to work overtime as needed and to work on call rotations. Willingness to attend on and/or off site training as required by the company. Valid Drivers License (if no CDL may be required to obtain one). Initial assignment will be in Field Engineering.
