Job Description: BBC Worldwide Americas Television Sales division is seeking a VP, Co productions and Sales, Fiction. This person will be the primary sales person responsible for generating co-production and sales revenue for Fiction (Drama, comedy and childrens) content on behalf of BBC Worldwide contributing to departmental sales budget. The NY based VP will lead the content planning of BBCW in house and indie Fiction Pipeline in the US and strategize the marketing of product alongside BBC Worldwide Investment Unit, BBC America and Content and Productions. This includes managing the coverage/screening process for feedback to production and as evaluation for likely customers. In addition, the VP will partner with BBCW Canada on the set up of co production projects in Canada. The development of a new client base from non-broadcast/cable partners (such as sponsors, VOD etc) will also be a key goal. S/he will serve as the primary liaison between BBC production, Independent producers and US clients, will maintain and build relationships, advise on creative and marketing considerations and collaborate on guiding the production process to meet client needs. The right candidate will possess extensive experience in the business of the television industry, including ancillary markets. A strong creative acumen, high level of effective negotiating skills and excellent communications and interpersonal skills will be necessary. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft applications and have the ability to learn specially designed software packages.
