Description Job Description-Franchise Business Leader DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Franchise Business Leader (FBL) is responsible and accountable for the operational support and professional business guidance of Quiznos restaurants within their assigned area. The FBLworks togetherwith the Franchise Owner (FO) and Quiznos team to help the franchisee togrow profitably,fund the future, andexcite-the--consumerthrough QuiznosOperational Excellence Standards. Franchise Business Leader (FBL) is responsible and accountable for all that occurs in their area. Ø The FBL is responsible for ensuring system-wide uniformity, adoption and adaptation of Quiznos programs, operational standards and procedures in all restaurants, specifically within their assigned area. This is accomplished through prompt and effective follow-up on allOperations Excellence Reviewscoupled with regularly scheduled visits with and follow-up calls to the FO. Ø The FBL also manages the new store opening process for all new stores within their area starting with FO entry in QU101, supports the FO throughout their training (QU101, QU110, QU120), manages the pre-opening process with the Opening Project Manager (OPM) and provides on-site training and support as prescribed by the new store opening process. Ø Transfers within the FBL area are the responsibility of the FBL as well. FBL manages the transfer process with the Transfer Team, ensures the selling FO and new FO or existing FO buying the unit are prepared for the transfer and then conducts in-store QU120 training as prescribed by the transfer process. Ø FBL recruits and maintains at least one (1) Regional training Store (RTS) within their area to support new openings within the area. Set-up, certification, ongoing support and management of the RTS is the responsibility of the FBL. Ø FBL conducts in-store and/or market training sessions in support of new products, limited time offers (LTO), new programs, new procedures, etc. Ø FBL sells in and manages the implementation of new programs as established by Quiznos. Ø FBL conducts regularly scheduled Business Reviews with all FOs in their area using a standardized balanced scorecard. FBL and FOwork togetherto complete a comprehensive Business Review designed to help the FOgrow profitably,fund the future, andexcite the customerthroughOperations Excellence. Ø FBL is responsible for identifying and influencing the qualified FO to develop additional restaurants through the purchase of existing stores and/or the opening of new stores. Ø FBL is often asked to assist with projects, tests, Food Bourne Illness Reports, etc. FBL is responsible for managing the assistance into their work plan and meeting the specified timeline. Ø The FBL must be versed in Local Store Marketing (LSM) techniques as outlined in the Quiznos Local Store Marketing (QLSM) Manual/Guide. FBL regularly trains stores to better conduct LSM activities to grow sales and improve profits. Ø The FBL is required to effectively and efficiently report on their activities and events within their area by participating in regular conference calls, meetings and other forums. Ø FBL is accountable for managing and reporting on a budget for their assigned area. Ø FBL must maintain confidentiality as specified by The Quiznos Corporation Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement. The FBL is responsible for managing their time and schedule so as to effectively and efficiently complete all required tasks and activities within their territory to achieve the desired result within the scheduled timeline. Job Description-Franchise Business Leader QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelors Degree, preferably in Restaurant, Food Service or Hospitality Management is a plus * Prior leadership and supervisory experience * Multi-unit restaurant management experience (District Manager level or higher is desirable) * 2ndlevel or higher P&L accountability is a decidable advantage * Significant restaurant management experience and P&L accountability required * Experience working with and supporting Franchisees is a decidable plus * Excellent project, planning and time management skills * Solid administrative and time management skills * Solid written and very strong verbal communication skills including delivery of group presentations * Ability to motivate a group into action, delegate tasks and outline directions * Ability to influence and lead the implementation of systems and procedures under tight deadlines * Basic computer literacy - MS Office, eMail, Intranet * Precise attention to detail and ability to follow instructions (written and verbal) is essential * Ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing environment is critical * Remains confident and calm under stress, tight timelines and pressure to get results WORKING CONDITION QUALIFICATIONS: * Valid drivers license and must be insurable on rental vehicles * Walk/stand on hard surfaced floors for long periods of time * Evaluate product quality through taste, texture, color and odor * Bend and reach to demonstrate such activities as stocking shelves, serving customers, or cleaning * Lift 25 lbs to demonstrate such activities as putting away stock or lifting large measures of product * Tolerate up to 5-10 minutes in the walk-in freezer at a temperature of 10 degrees F * Tolerate up to 15-20 minutes in walk-in cooler at a temperature of 40 degrees F * During openings and transfers, work long, intense hours (12+ hrs per day) for up to 14 days in a row * Extensive travel by car and air, as well as weekend work (50%% travel, but will vary by area) * Personal credit card for use while traveling (expense reports are submitted and reimbursed weekly)
