Job Description & Experience: MIC, a program of Public Health Solutions, provides comprehensive prenatal and family planning services to over 17,000 patients annually through a network of seven centers, located throughout New York City. Services include medical, social work, HIV counseling and testing, and STD screening and treatment. Responsibilities Include: Direct patients to the appropriate center areas Orient patients to womens health services, prenatal, family planning and ob/gyn services Prepare and assist with the examination and treatment of the patient, providing concurrent support and reassurance to the patient, and facilitating communication between the patient and the provider of service, including translation as appropriate Maintain supplies, including inventory, unpacking, and storage in the patient care areas Sterilize and store instruments and containers, utilizing the principles and procedures stated in the "Care and Handling of Instruments" Complete laboratory tests as requested by the medical provider including: drawing blood, urine dipstick, pregnancy tests, hematocrit, Ora-Quick, and glucose challenge and tolerance tests, including logging and f/u of test performed Conduct HIV pretest counseling Perform and record quality control tests For more information about working at Public Health Solutions and to apply for this position, visit our website at
