Job description Employees in this role drive IBM revenue. They act as a technical consultant to our customers and remove technical inhibitors to the sale of IBM products, solutions and services. This Specialist assures a solutions technical feasibility, qualifies opportunities, understands customer business and technical environments, ensures successful installation and drives implementation planning. When engaged for a specific opportunity, they are responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution, service, project, or enhancement. Responsibilities also include-- articulate technical benefits of IBMs products, solutions and services to all levels in customers organization; develop IBM product expertise needed to technically differentiate from and position against competition; design solutions / prove solution capabilities; address technical issues and objections; tailor and present demos; compare and contrast product models, features, and functions; manage and coordinate pilots and trials; assist with Beta and other Early Programs; ensure customer readiness for products and solutions & assist with Solution Assurance; ensure complete implementation planning; ensure successful solution installation; ensure customer satisfaction and drive effective handling of critical situations and complaints as required; identify new opportunities, drive new workloads and encourage use of on demand technology and assist with capacity planning and performance analysis studies if required. Sales experience is highly desirable; other customer-facing experiences may be acceptable. Employee must live in the Mid-Atlantic territory. Require the ability to travel up to 70%%. Candidate should have 3+ years experience in WebSphere or competitors related technology and have 5+ years experience in a customer facing role. The candidate is not expected to cover the entire IBM WebSphere portfolio as team members specialize Required * High School Diploma/GED * At least 2 years experience in Presentation skills * Readiness to travel up to 50%%; travelling 3-4 days a week, home on weekends * English: Fluent Preferred * Bachelors Degree in Information Technology * At least 1 year experience in WebSphere Application Server (WAS) * At least 1 year experience in WebSphere MQ (WMQ) * At least 1 year experience in WebSphere Process Server (WPS) and WID * At least 1 year experience in WebSphere Message Broker (WMB) * At least 1 year experience in WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (WESB) * At least 1 year experience in SOA concepts and architecture * At least 1 year experience in Java or other programming languages Additional information Sales and Distribution develops, integrates, sells and distributes IBMs unparalleled array of products and services.
