Job Summary

The Web Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining Register.coms external and internal web application environments and play a pivotal role in leading the development of our next generation web applications.

The Web Developer will have strong web applications development and analytical (i.e. requirements gathering) skills, as well as the ability to learn new technologies quickly, based on prior experiences with similar tools. The Web Developer will provide expert level advice on tools and platform direction. The Web Developer has superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical solutions to internal clients of all levels. The Web Developer requires working with individuals and cross functional teams to establish frameworks, architecture, develop and maintain our web based systems and applications.

Principal Responsibilities: (Essential Function)

Establish sound UI tier application architecture based on industry best practices. .Implement rapid UI tier changes to meet changing business and marketing requirements. .Develop functional and technical documentation on assigned projects. .Work in a team environment in supporting the team goals, and improving web development engineering practices. .Estimate software development efforts on assigned projects and meet them. .Analyze and optimize pages and page design for maximum performance. .Work closely with internal clients (marketing and product teams) to achieve business objectives.

Job Requirements

Education .BS CS/Engineering or equivalent degree

Experience .5+ years experience in Web Development, UI tier design and technologies such as Struts, AJAX, JSP, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, DHTML, CSS. .Use Java tag libraries and API to build web applications. .Strong problem analysis and solving skills. .Proven results-oriented person with a delivery focus. .Able to independently design, code, and test application features. .Strong communication and interpersonal skills. .Strong teaming and client management skills. .Experience with version control systems (CVS is preferred). .The willingness to learn and keep up with new technologies. .Knowledge of struts and MVC frameworks. .Experience with external Content Management Systems. .Experience with CSS-based table-less page layouts. .Experience using web metrics software (Omniture, WebTrends, etc.). .Experience with AB testing for e-Commerce web sites. .Experience/familiarity with Web 2.0 concepts.
