The challenge: Gain leadership in your domain and play a key role in the expansion of Thomson eXimius in North America. The Role: New York City based The Thomson eXimius Business Consultant will use their deep product and workflow knowledge to guide customers and define their business requirements from pre sales, through implementation and post sale phases. In this role, the successful applicant will: * Support the Thomson eXimius Sales team from a technical perspective, including presenting directly to potential customers and through participation in implementation work shops. * Have the ability to demonstrate industry technical best practice. * Work closely with customers in the technical design and installation of Thomson eXimius. This includes technical advice on connectivity between Thomson eXimius and other customer systems such as a back office or custodian systems. * Deliver technical consultancy to our customers during implementation and in post sales support. * Manage the implementation of our product at customer site. * Support the business analysts in our Software factory on customer related project work.!*! Qualifications and Experience Required: As the ideal candidate you are successful at combining your technical knowledge of the wealth management industry with your passion for partnering with clients to provide value-added solutions. You use high standards, work pro-actively and are driven by results. * Minimum 10 years experience in the financial services industry and knowledge of investment management, capital markets and/or money markets * Knowledge of portfolio management, order management, performance measurement and attribution, financial and strategic asset allocation, relationship management and client reporting. * Experience in technical planning and implementations in the financial services industry * Prior technical consulting experience is an asset. * Excellent communications skills and ability to demonstrate technical solutions to both large and small audiences. * Understanding of wealth management back office systems and data flows * Pro-active and results driven, able to operate as a self starter * Degree in IT and a track record of further learning in project management and other technical specialties such as security and networking * Team player, flexible, detail orientated and customer focused * Willingness to travel across the Americas with occasional trips to Europe. Technical Skills Required * Degree in IT or equivalent through experience Knowledge of: * MS Windows 2003 Server. * MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005 (setting up & configuration, backups, restores, security, transact sql, stored procedures, etc.). * Good SQL knowledge. * MS IIS 6.0 & security. * MS Active Directory. * Good conceptual knowledge regarding technical architectures topics like: DMZ zones, intern & external networks, load-balancers, fail-over clusters, SANs, RAID levels, disaster recovery, etc . Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies is an asset: * MSMQ messaging and/or IBM MQ Series (messaging). * MSCS (Microsoft clustering). * MS SQL Server 2005 Reporting Server (setting up & configuration). * Experience in MS database, MSMQ and/or IBM MQ series, MS reporting Services. Ability to read VB6 and .NET code is a requirement.
