Job Description: Job Summary: Sets strategic direction and implements assigned site product strategy in support of larger business goals and strategy. Acts as primary liaison among related service groups in the content creation, design, promotion, maintenance and oversight of brand website(s). Supervises management staff. Oversees production budget, product development and general operations of web site. Works with business owner to create product strategy that provides foundation for emerging business. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: . Establishes current and long range product strategy aimed at keeping the organization in the forefront of change within industry. . Devises and oversees strategy for consumer facing content . Dispenses technical advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures. . Oversees and authorizes the preparation and management of department budgets. . Serves as senior level communicator among relevant service and operational groups, including but not limited to editorial, production, ad sales, ad sales marketing, consumer marketing, online marketing, press, analytics, research, creative services, programming, information technology, broadband, business development, outside vendors. . Represents assigned site(s) at senior-level meetings. . Manages day-to-day operations of assigned brand, coordinating all permanent and independent contractor staff. . Leads efforts to create new ideas for brand site and execute new site functionality. This includes drafting detailed creative definition of product and its goals, including how product integrates into existing product/environment. This will include writing and evaluating RFPs when necessary. . Interface with network brand departments including: programming, creative services and marketing department to plan promotion events and develop on-air/online support. . Work closely with online production department and programmers to set technical/development priorities. Communicate growth needs and special events that affect hosting environment. . Work with Research Department on website statistics and traffic reporting. . Oversee budget: monthly expenses, forecasting, quarterly and year budget reporting. . Work with legal department to ensure proper use of materials online and execute partner and service provider agreements. Other Duties and Responsibilities: . Interface with Broadband and points-of-contact to facilitate brand site and syndicated content. . Work closely with Ad Sales to coordinate and create ad supported content packages. . Coordinate brand site content with editorial staff with other Scripps Network sites. . Explores and integrates plans for new technology as appropriate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: . Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources . Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media . Advanced knowledge of web technologies, video production, and web page design and editorial . Ability to utilize HTML and web content management tools . Oral and written communication skills . Knowledge of arithmetic and statistics, and their applications related to budget development, maintenance and management . Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelors degree in a related field. 8 years experience with web technologies and web design, including a minimum of two years experience in a management role.
