Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, occupational safety and health, workers compensation, wage and hour issues, and labor relations. Thorough knowledge of wage and salary, employment and benefits administration and payroll. . Must have solid background in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, compensation, policy/procedure development and interpretation, and familiarity with talent management and benefits administration. . Collaborative HR team member; strong verbal and written skills. . Ability to be resourceful, creative and maintain flexibility. . Ability to train, motivate, evaluate, mentor and direct employees and managers to meet desired objectives. What are the job responsibilities? The Senior HR Generalist will lead the human resources function for our New York office. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing successful talent acquisition and management, compensation, employee relations, performance management and training and development strategies for key client groups (Investments and ING Investment Management Latin America). In addition, this role will manage a Senior HR Generalist and an HR Coordinator. 1. Work with Management Committee Members and heads of departments to create their leadership agendas by providing both strategic and tactical HR support. 2. Lead and/or support recruitment efforts for highly specialized investment professionals and ING Investment Management Latin America businesses. 3. Develop compensation packages based on interpretation of market data, internal comparables, and other relevant factors for highly leveraged new hires. Ensure appropriate knowledge of organizations incentive compensation and benefit plans. 4. Provide employee relations support to employees and managers by providing effective conflict resolution advice and counseling; monitor progress and actions taken to ensure consistent application of corrective action programs and initiatives take place. 5. Work cross-functionally and cross-regionally with HR peers in developing, executing and managing both HR programs and human capital change programs to achieve the business objectives and strategy. 6. Manage annual performance management and compensation processes including market data review and mapping, year-end appraisals, base salary review and incentive compensation review. Work closely with client groups to ensure consistent and equitable application of the compensation framework. 7. Monitor compliance with employment policies and procedures to ensure fair and consistent treatment of employees is maintained; recommends enhancements to policies and procedures in an effort for continual improvements in the efficiency and the effectiveness of the programs and services that are offered by the HR team. 8. Partner with HR colleagues in developing and implementing talent management strategies and succession planning tools for respective client groups. 9. Coordinate with appropriate colleagues to assist in the successful administration of international assignments within the organization. 10. Act as a leader for one of our functional HR areas and act as a subject matter expert in this area. This will require developing initiatives and working with the IIM HR team to implement them firm-wide. What else can we tell you?
