Pierce Finance & Accounting is an established professional services company with a focus on providing Finance & Accounting services to Fortune 500 companies in the NY/NJ/PA area, on both a consulting and permanent basis.
This is a challenging and rewarding position that includes management of 5 to 6 analyst/associate level controllers, covering a range of Prime Brokerage products, with particular emphasis on Securities Lending and derivative trade intermediation.

Principal Responsibilities:
* Manage staff of 5 - 6 whose responsibilities include production of p&l, balance sheet and ad hoc analytics in support of the Securities Lending and Derivative Prime Brokerage desks.
* Liaise with GSS CFO and his finance team to review P&L results.
* Control and oversight of trade bookings related to the Securities Lending and Derivative Prime Brokerage business.
* Control of the firms books and records including monthly sign off on SOX at Assessor level.
* Oversee project initiatives, including working with IT to improve funding flows and the reporting process.
* Work with desk leaders in bringing new products to market.
* Work with Accounting Policy on appropriate disclosure of either new products or FASB and other accounting changes.
* Sign off on 10Q/10K disclosures and footnotes for products supported.
* Interface with other support areas such as Product Controllers, Corporate Treasury and Operations.
* Recruitment, retention, development and training of staff
Experience/skills:
- Degree in Accounting and/or Finance/CFA - CPA or CA preferred
- Minimum of 7 years professional experience, that includes the Securities industry - Prime Brokerage and/or derivatives experience a definite plus
- Technically strong in Product and Finance knowledge
- At least 2 years formal managerial experience
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
