Job Description: Job Summary: The function of this newly created department is to understand the market opportunity that would support new products for our web properties and develop, manage and execute product enhancements and applications that relate to Scripps strategic business objectives. Responsible for the full product development cycle - from conception through project management to delivery and deployment for internet/web based products based on established metrics of success. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: . Establishes current and long range product strategy based on market opportunity and consumer insights aimed at keeping the organization in forefront of change within industry. . Develop product strategy and roadmap for new products or major enhancements to existing products that supports the organizations strategic business objectives and creates competitive advantage. . Develops product management objectives, policies and procedures for the organization. . Ensures that key stakeholders are kept apprised of latest product trends and product management methodologies. . Lead cross functional teams, including engineering, development, customers, design, production, marketing and sales in a dynamic environment to ensure product(s) are effectively executed in a rapid development environment. . Identify necessary reports, metrics and analysis to measure the effectiveness and validate the success of products. . Oversee budget: monthly expenses, forecasting, quarterly and year budget reporting. . Sets objectives for, and ensures the professional development of staff as it relates to product management. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: . Experience transforming business and design requirements into product requirements with a focus on usability. . Advanced knowledge of web technologies, development best practices and product management life cycle. . A clear understanding of marketing, product positioning and ability to work with online teams to promote usage and acceptance of product. . Demonstrated success managing priorities and personalities and best path for development in cross-functional teams, vendors etc. . Must be a team player, detail oriented and able to keep up with a fast paced, dynamic environment. . Ability to develop plans to generate premium revenue around new products. . Critical thinking and logical reasoning skills, including complex problem solving and troubleshooting. . Creative thinking skills. . Must be able to perform effectively under multiple deadlines. . A sharp mind and willingness to learn is essential. . Clear and concise communication skills. . Knowledge of arithmetic and statistics, and their applications related to budget development, maintenance and management. . Demonstrated success in team development, coaching and developing individuals. . Proficient in computer skills. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Standard office environment. Sedentary work. Position involves travel 25%% of time. Drivers license required. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelors degree in a related field. 10+ years experience with web technologies and web design, including a minimum of 5 years experience in a management role.
