Job Description:
The Training Proctor serves as a liaison between the vendor or state agency, CompUSA and its certification applicants. The position is responsible for ensuring that testing is done under secure conditions and in compliance with all written certification agreements with CompUSA and the certification vendor or state agency. Job Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Receives, administers or oversees the exam. Ensures the identity of test-takers by requiring picture identification; ensures all testing environment requirements are adhered to (i.e. no cell phones or other electronic devices…). Maintains proximity with and is able to observe the student during the entire test-taking period. Ensures that test-takers complete the exam according to the instructors instructions. The proctor must ensure that all necessary technologies are available and working at the proposed testing site. No copies of the exam other than the copy used for test-taking are to be made at any time. No person other than the proctor and student may view the exam. (The student may have access to the exam only during the time period allowed by the instructor.) The proctor must follow the instructors requirements for administering the exam. These may include a time limit, specific allowable equipment, such as a calculator and inclusion or exclusion of books, notes, etc. Only the proctor may handle the actual exam prior to and following its completion. The proctor must prepare the exam (and any relevant materials, e.g., scratch paper) for return by sealing it in an appropriate envelope, defined and/or provided by the department, immediately after the student completes it. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED equivalent and 1+ years experience working directly with testing facilities or the equivalent combination of education, experience and training are required. Various other certifications may be required and specified by certification vendors and state agency’s based on licensing agreements between CompUSA and stated entities. In order to remain employed by CompUSA, these certifications must be acquired and maintained. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills an the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals and journals, technical procedures, or government regulations as well as the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and issues from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. REASONING ABILITY: Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret an extensive variety of financial information. Ability to solve practical problems, identify client’s needs and formulate solutions based on CompUSA and its various trade and business partner’s capabilities. OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES: Demonstrated supervisory/management skills, including the ability to effectively select, train, motivate, and develop personnel. Ability to delegate activities to subordinates. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, including leadership, patience, persistence, and flexibility. Ability to get along with diverse personalities. High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Success in managing multiple deadline-driven projects. Skilled at prioritization of activities and time management. Ability to work independently with minimal direction, to analyze issues, and escalate to senior management as necessary. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in either one-on-one or group situations. Proficiency in PC-based word processing, spreadsheets and other relevant software. Ability to operate standard office equipment such as facsimile machines, copiers, typewriters, multi-line telephones, etc. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
