Position Purpose: The successful candidate will be able to work both as part of a dynamic group as well as independently, interact effectively with technical systems and business personnel, adapt/integrate new technologies and broaden the scope of his/her mandate as required to meet the needs of the business Key Accountabilities: Details of Job Description: Provide System Support for Equities Electronic Trading Systems - Fidessa / GTRS (RBC Proprietary System) / Fix Gateway Responsible for Troubleshooting Trade flow problems Responsible for Technical Support of Systems (Unix commands, Vi - shell - scripting - crons etc) Responsible for new Fix connections - establishing - testing - turnover Responsible for release of new code, binaries, changes, enhancements - provided by development Responsible for System Integrity - Monitor systems - make recommendations on improvements/enhancements. Responsible for coordinating bug fixes with development. - validate test lifecycle. Trouble Shooting problem provided by Traders on orders, I.E. Submitted a stop limit order in system "Fidessa" - I have not received "ack" from SIAC - Being able to trouble shoot the flow and find problem. Interact with Trade Support Team (1st level support team) - Business Analysts. Create documented procedures and processes that the team members can follow to ensure consistent service Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): Preferred Professional and Tech Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills 3-5 years experience in a similar hybrid technical/business 5+ yearsUnix/Solaris systems experience is a must, Scripting, Perl, Korn, TCL Basic Networking and Routing knowledge Equity Order flow knowledge is ideal but a good understanding of FIX Protocol would be acceptable General We are looking for an ambitious candidate who is looking for a challenging role with great growth opportunities Experience in application support and testing, analysis and troubleshooting Experience working with business users/clients/developers to perform analysis and recommend solutions. Ability to plan work and keep to a schedule.
