Job description The Product Manager owns the business and the product(s) that comprise that business. People in this role are responsible for assessing the market and the IBM opportunity; understand IBMs strategic directions; and define and execute the vision, strategy (including lifecycle management), and product(s) roadmap. Product Managers have varying scopes and responsibilities that may include: assessing what markets IBM should compete in, determining gaps in the IBM portfolio, partnering with customers, sales, marketing, development and analysts to formulate and introduce new or current product proposals either cross-brand, cross-PDT or within PDT. As a Technical Product Manager (TPM), you will provide technical guidance to support the business and product strategy. Must have a intimate understanding of the PeopleSoft Application Architecture and common configurations used by PeopleSoft customers.Tactical and technical guidance on how to execute on product features that support these business objectives in the PeopleSoft Segment. Based on the product strategy, the TPM will provide assistance in defining and managing the marketing requirements document, functional specification process, and regular development status monitoring. Perform market research, competitive analysis and deliver marketing requirement documents. Run technical functional reviews, and provide thought leadership (Tier 2 tactical) sales support. Development of marketing materials including literature, presentations, press and sales kits, and presenting at industry events.
