Job description Position for NY Wall Street territory. The Tape Sales Specialist is responsible for selling IBM offerings for Back Up and Restore (data deduplication) directly to customers and channel partners. Candidates should have experience selling Storage Solutions to Enterprise level Fortune 1000 customers along with a solid understanding of the technical concepts for storage management. Successful candidate will have experience selling Back Up and Restore storage solutions applications (CommVault, VERITAS, Tivoli, Legato, NBU, etc). This position requires a complete understanding of the sales processes, techniques and tools in the discipline, which include, but are not limited to opportunity / territory management, availability management, network management, application development, cost justification, recovery services, and acquisition management. IBM acquiring "data deduplication" technologies maps to the overall enterprise strategy of developing more efficient, cost effective data centers and will further extend IBMs industry leading storage portfolio. Data deduplication is one of the hottest technology offerings that organizations are investing in today and this product enables IBM to offer a leading edge solution to support data protection, archive and data-retention applications while maintaining the integrity of the data. This becomes part of IBMs New Enterprise Data Center model, which helps clients improve IT efficiency and facilitates the rapid deployment of new IT services for future business growth. According to a recent study of 152 Fortune 1000 enterprises by TheInfoPro, 56 percent of those surveyed spent more on data deduplication in 2007 when compared to 2006, and that increased spending trend is expected to continue in 2008.
