Job Description: Provide pre-sales engineering support for Global Financial Services Region. This position requires desire and skills to work with immediate and extended account team in driving Cisco Advanced Technologies within Global Financial Services Region. Key Cisco technologies include Unified Communications, and routing and switching. 1. Responsibilities for selected major account opportunities within Global Financial Services Region . 2. Provide specific voice solution/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support for major account opportunities. 3. Understand business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements. 4. Understand and articulate Ciscos Architectures and Services. 5. Facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, partners, corporate, and the field. 6. Create, present, and document technical solutions. 7. Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. 8. Drive identified major account opportunities (i.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations, and Cisco technology solutions) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership. 9. Provide consultative support and mentor other less experienced Systems Engineers in assigned major account opportunities. 10. Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team, and will be Technical Leader for the Area UC ASSET Team 11. Must have area of specialization in Unified Communications. 12. Excellent written and verbal communications, including, listening, and strong presentation skills. 13. Viewed as a leader by senior management, peers, partners, company and customers.14. Publish white papers on given topics for internal or external use.15. Continually gather product requirements and submit findings to BUs and LOBs to drive Area or Operation business requirements.16. Major account focus will require increased travel responsibilities.17. Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team(s) and/or Solutions Team(s).18. Must have area of specialization, and potentially multi-areas. 10+ years related experience. Cisco experience required. Cisco product and end-to-end positioning required. Competitive product experience required. Pre-Sales experience required. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCIE certification highly desirable and/or preferred. Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member. Demonstrated technical knowledge and consultative skills. Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to assess a problem and determine an effective course of action. Works with Channel Account Team to ensure high levels of Customer Satisfaction at customer sites. 1. Experience in Unified Communications technologies to include core and advanced voice solutions, particularly, knowledge of Call Manager, Unity, Meeting Place, IPCC Express, and IPCC Enterprise. 2. Core voice knowledge should include the following telecommunications protocols: ISDN PRI/BRI, T1 CAS, SS7, SCP, DAP, analog signaling, E&M. 3. In addition, experience with the following networking protocols is required: TCP/IP, X.25, MPLS, VLANs, Layer 2 Switching, SPAN, IP routing, QoS, H.323, MGCP, and SIP. 4. Experience with DS-x leased line, Frame Relay, PSTN, ATM, metro optical, broadband, and inverse multiplexing including carrier transport offerings is also required. 5. Knowledge of enterprise security as it relates to IP Telephony is also desired. Service Provider experience is a plus. General familiarity with PC & Microsoft environments, including Windows NT/2k/XP. Cisco product experience and specific solution/ technology/ product positioning required or product experience in key competitor offerings. Pre-Sales experience required. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCIE certification highly desirable and/or preferred.
