Successful incumbents will be responsible for: Underwrite all lines of business for Middle Market. Responsible for selection, underwriting, pricing, negotiating, selling and servicing of business for assigned agents and achievement of customer satisfaction and the individual objective for profit and growth assigned. Additional responsibilities may include book of business and agency management. 100%% referral may be required at the outset of incumbency. An increasing level of underwriting authority is granted as incumbent demonstrates capabilities and skill as measured by QA.

Qualifications

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Qualified candidates will have the following requirements: * Internal Candidates should have successful completion of The Hartford Underwriter Trainee Program,or, * External Candidates should 2-3 or more years of commercial lines underwriting and agency management experience with a peer company * Bachelors Degree preferred. * Strong mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. * Active participation in training and coaching sessions. * CPCU, IIA or CIC coursework preferred. * Strong written and verbal communication, sales and negotiating skills. * Ability to travel in assigned territory, meet agents and participate in presentations.
