Description: Company Description: JPMorganChase is a leading global financial services firm with assets exceeding $1.7 trillion and operations in more than 50 countries. The firm is a leader in investment banking, financial transaction processing, asset and wealth management and private equity. The JPMorganChase Audit Department is accountable to the Audit and Examining Committee of the Board of Directors, the Office of the Chairman, senior management and our global and local regulators. The global Audit Department has in excess of 500 auditors. The Investment Bank Credit Review (IBCR) team within the JPMorganChase Audit Department is responsible for validating the reasonableness and timeliness of risk ratings assigned internally to credit exposures held by the firm’s Investment Banking businesses, and for assessing the quality and completeness of internal credit approval memoranda. Credit Review officers also confirm the businesses’ compliance with applicable internal policies and banking regulations pertaining to analysis and categorization of credit risk. Description: Credit Review Officers plan and conduct periodic audits of global Investment Banking credit portfolios. During the course of an audit, officers review in detail a representative sample of portfolio clients. For each reviewed client, officers read relevant internal credit approval memoranda as well as the client’s public financial disclosures, press releases, external rating agency opinions, etc. Based on the information reviewed, officers develop independent assessments of the appropriate risk rating for the reviewed clients and record their analyses and conclusions in a workpaper database. The officers’ written analyses must be concise but thorough, and are subject to review by external bank examiners. Between formal audits, Credit Review Officers independently monitor credit trends in individually assigned industry-based or country-based IB portfolios and record their observations in monitoring journals. Officers attend relevant business portfolio review and problem credit review meetings, and manage IBCR’s ongoing relationship with internal stakeholders responsible for credit approval, client credit management and credit policy. Officers also interact periodically with external bank examiners. In addition to having a comprehensive understanding of credit analysis principles, Credit Review Officers should be broadly familiar with risk characteristics and exposure metrics for the array of credit products (including derivative products as well as traditional loan products) used by Investment Banking customers. Most review work is performed in New York using credit documents accessed electronically. Travel requirements are limited to 5 — 10%% of an officer’s time.

Responsibilities include: * As reviewer-in-charge, lead a team of IBCR officers in audits of IB portfolios. This includes chairing all meetings associated with planning, initial kick-off, reviewing and presenting findings, and formal closing. It also includes coordinating the assembly of review files, ongoing communications with the business, reviewing workpapers written by other team members, drafting the final audit report, and supervising the archiving of all relevant documents. * As team member, participating in IBCR audits led by other team members. This includes reviewing assigned client files, recording analyses and conclusions in the workpaper database, and participating actively in all audit meetings. * Continuous monitoring of assigned industry-based or country-based portfolios. This includes maintaining regular contact with responsible credit executives and bankers and participating in periodically scheduled portfolio review meetings. All observations are recorded in portfolio-specific monitoring journals. * Serve as an information resource on risk rating policy and risk analysis for IB business and credit officers, who call to seek advice. Also field calls from bank examiners on particular portfolios, past credits reviewed, policy matters, credit system questions, etc. * 10+ years of credit experience analyzing industrial corporations and/or financial institutions in one or more of the following roles: loan review, corporate lending, counterparty risk management, credit approval, workout, risk rating analysis or regulatory supervision (OCC, Fed, etc.). * Demonstrated strong analytical and report writing skills * Persuasive verbal communications with peers, senior and junior stakeholders and regulators * Planning, project leadership, and teamwork skills * Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. * Bachelors degree or equivalent at minimum; graduate degree a plus. JPMorgan Chase is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer, M/F/D/V.
