The Media & Entertainment Practice of Microsoft Services has an exciting opportunity for a Consultant with deep Portal architecture, design and implementation experience. As a Senior Consultant, you will be an integral part of the account team, helping to foster trusted-advisor relationships and assisting customers in realizing maximum value from their investment in Microsoft technologies. In addition, you will be on the front lines of innovation with Microsoft technology, allowing you to provide crucial feedback to the product development teams to ensure the ongoing success of our products and services. The Portal Architect/Developer will focus on leading complex portal and application architecture, design and development consulting engagements. You will consult on Microsoft’s SharePoint Server solutions and .NET development tools and technologies with key enterprise customers and partners, focused on infrastructure and portal solutions. Job Requirements : The successful candidate will possess: · A deep understanding of and experience with Microsoft’s SharePoint Portal Server solutions and Windows SharePoint Services. Hands-on development experience on MOSS 2007 or WSS v3 would be a plus. · Strong working relationship with Executive Staff at customer (CxO, VP) · Global Development and Delivery experience · A deep understanding of application architecture and development in the .NET/Services Oriented Architectural models, e.g., .NET Framework, CLR, XML, C#, ASP.Net, VS.Net, Team Foundation Server, web services and associated technologies and standards · Experience with other Microsoft Server technologies is a plus. For example: BizTalk, Content Management Server, SQL Server including SQL Analysis, Integration and Reporting Services, Commerce Server · Hands-on experience in workflow systems and portal development, including those based on Microsoft technologies and competitive platforms. Preferred skills include advanced ASP.NET v2, web parts, KPI and BI dashboard development experience. · Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as InfoPath and Excel Service would be a plus · Knowledge of the latest .NET framework including Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation and Windows Presentation Foundation would be a plus · Large enterprise deployment experience in complex heterogeneous environments · Knowledge of full application development life cycle and management · Knowledge of design patterns, tools and methodologies such as object oriented design, AJAX patterns, software factory and agile development is a plus · Demonstrated excellence at presenting complex development topics to both executive and technical personnel Candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills. The role requires broad technology knowledge and the ability to architect a solution by mapping a customer’s business problem to an end-to-end technology solution. The role requires a mix of advanced technology and strategic business acumen as well as a demonstrated ability to engage in senior level technology decision maker discussions related to agility and the business value of Microsoft technology. Travel is an integral part of this position, while a part of the work is local, candidates must be willing and able to travel as much as is demanded by the needs of our customers and our business.
