Description: 246371 Job Title: Sr Banking Advisor I Location: New York,NY, New York 100171028 United States Hrs/Wk: 40 Employment Type: Full-Time Job Description: RESPONSIBILITIES: JOB PURPOSE: Leads effort to meet the local team loan, deposit & asset quality goals with accountability for overall balance sheet production & profitability. Acts as banking specialist on all Wealth Management (WM) loan & deposit products. Assesses, decisions, approves credit requests & acts as liaison with client on banking needs. Recommends & approves pricing & provides expertise in depository products to ensure maximum profitability. Provides credit approval within own consumer & commercial credit authority. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: UNDERWRITING, PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT, RISK MANAGEMENT--Leads credit process for large dollar or complex commercial credit requests & appropriately channels transactions to Affluent Credit Solutions, Business Credit Solutions, Leasing, Specialty Finance or Mortgage Direct. Conducts & ensures accurate, complete due diligence. Prepares term sheets & completes negotiations to ensure excellent responsiveness. Utilizes approval authority to facilitate timely, marketable responses to the largest & most complex customer credit requests. Participates in prospect or client call with or without the Relationship Manager (RM). Assists in relationship plan development & leads banking plan development. Understands & maintains a thorough knowledge of WM credit policies & credit culture while staying abreast of all policy changes, compliance [commercial & consumer] requirements & loan approval system changes &/or enhancements. Ensures acceptable levels of asset quality, regulatory compliance & process adherence to meet AQ and RAI goals. AFFLUENT CLIENT DEVELOPMENT--Identifies deposit & credit opportunities working through the RM. Works directly with WM Products Team to ensure deposit revenue is maximized. Maintains a strong working knowledge of depository & credit products & strategies available within Wachovia & matches to client needs. Solid insight & knowledge of market pricing & competitors to increase portfolio spread on depository products & loans. Active participation/leadership in client calls & client assessment meetings. Maintains a working knowledge of new financial products/strategies available within Wachovia & leverages it for client solutions. Accountable for excellent client satisfaction scores. LEADERSHIP--Provides coaching & leadership to RMs and Regional Directors (RDs) on all banking products. Accepts personal accountability when making decisions. Demonstrates & maintains high standards of personal & professional behavior. Collaborates & coordinates with ACS Solutions to ensure efficient deal flow & client satisfaction. Ensures excellent communication/coordination with RMs & RDs. Participates & leads special projects, committees & focus groups for Wachovia. Exhibits product specialist leadership in depository campaigns. Provides high quality client service to internal & external clients. Travel within region will be required. REQUIREMENTS: 10 years of commercial lending/analytical or related experience in commercial lending underwriting, portfolio management. Thorough knowledge of financial accounting theory and logic, loan structuring, commercial products and services. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills. Ability to interpret and discuss analytical data. Must have the ability to work well as a team member; ability to juggle several tasks and prioritize. Proficient with computers and software applications [MSA, MS Excel, MS Word, other MS Office Suite applications, etc.] and applicable mainframe systems. Some travel will be required. Undergraduate degree required graudate degree preferred. Completion of a formal commercial credit training program preferred. Minimum of two years in Wealth Management Credit while performing at an exceeds expectation level. Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm Wachovia
