Robert Half Technology is recruiting for a production SQL DBA for a contract-to-hire opportunity here in Midtown Manhattan. The right candidate must have excellent communication skills, and the desire to work with a small, highly-productive team of database professionals. The Production Database Administrator will manage all aspects of a multi-purpose, multi-terabyte database landscape, ensuring high availability and high performance across the entire organization. Responsibilities: -Architect and understand solid SQL Server database solutions for a wide variety of needs -Research and deploy cutting-edge emerging database technologies as needed -Set up and maintain SQL Server database replication -Build and support comprehensive database logging and auditing measures, and 24x7 database monitoring and alerts -Conduct manual database performance tuning, and deploy automated maintenance scripts -Design and maintain ongoing backup and recovery strategy, manage vast data archives -Perform formalized schema and data deployments into test, staging and production environments -Manage database security across the organization Requirements: -Minimum 4 years experience in a production database administrator role with Microsoft SQL Server 2000-2005 and related technologies.
