WE ARE SEEKING – Sign Shop Operator Our Print Services Division -- is seeking a Sign Shop Operator. This person must have the ability to be the "super user" of the print services systems and will be the "go to" person for the department for producing vinyl signage with a very specialize graphic and artistry technique for all the SFAE stores independently while dealing with the pressures of producing the signs accurately, while under tight deadlines. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE:

* Design specialized, non-standard signage utilizing Microsoft Publisher and experienced knowledge to determine the best dimensions and color proportionate to standard-type signage. * Hand cut the surrounding borders and spacing between each letter with a sharp weeding tool for each vinyl sign while delicately ensuring the integrity of each letter is not compromised. * Typeset vinyl phrases, store hours, directories, special graphics, and/or logos in sizes ranging between ¼” to 5” proficiently utilizing a specialized software (Gerber Omega). * Ensure that the customers’ color and size requests are fully compliant with SFAE’s signage standards to maintain consistency throughout the stores. * Proof each signage request - compare the spelling of the context and each vendor’s names - and appropriately edit necessary changes and notify the changes to the customer. * Measure, apply, and evenly press sized adhesive backing directly to each vinyl phrase while avoiding air pockets between the letters. * Work closely with each visual department throughout SFAE stores to ensure full communication is utilized for each request and advise new visual personnel of standard sizing and colors. * Weigh, label, and ship each package to the appropriate stores basing the most efficient and cost-effective delivery options on each store’s proximity and each customer’s deadline expectancy. * Coordinate overage of bulk signage requests with the outside supplier, instructing them of all specifications, including turnaround. * Maintain inventory of production supplies for the Sign Shop and prepare purchase orders for replenishments. * Produce documentation for management to capture the detailed specifications needed to be charged back to the customers. * Perform all of the non-vinyl production duties for paper signage requests, as needed. Produce vinyl signage with a very specialized graphic and artistry technique for all of the SFAE stores independently while dealing with the pressures of producing the signs accurately, while under tight deadlines. Coordinate and communicate the expectancies and inquiries of each customer and advise the use of standardized types and sizes, when appropriate. Collect, generate, verify, and process production and charge back information. Assist with the deliverance and reallocations of fax equipment throughout the 31st Street location. Produce paper signage for each of the SFAE stores. Job requests’ due dates versus completion of jobs. Ensure charge backs are accurate with each job ticket request. Maintain a very low or non-existent rate of redone jobs. Graphics certification and background along with critical trade of design work experience Requirements Artistic, steady hand coordination with weeding tools Mechanically inclined Excellent verbal and written communication
