Who You Are: This is an intensive copyediting position designed to help achieve the web marketing goals of the company. The copyeditor writes and reviews all Jamd website content (and content in associated marketing vehicles such as email and other digital media projects). He or she also participates in developing and maintaining world-class editorial brand standards and ensuring that all content meets those standards. Your Next Challenge: * Copy writing and editing: all Jamd website content. Work closely with design staff for timely and accurate event-based coverage. * Scheduling and managing of some ongoing website content. * Other duties: assigning to and working with freelancers, possible live blogging.What You• ll Need: * Bachelors degree in English, communications, journalism or related field or equivalent experience. * Minimum 5 years professional experience with 2 years copywriting for online media. * Copywriting experience highly preferred. * Familiarity with technical aspects of web design and development preferred. * Exemplary written communication skills, diplomacy and confidence are critical. * Detail-oriented with strong copyediting, rewriting and follow-up skills. * Ability to internalize and apply an editorial style guide consistently. * Thorough and current knowledge of the contemporary pop culture including celebrities, music and movies. * Excellent research skills; comfort utilizing web-based resources, industry publications, phone, email, interviews, books and other resource materials. * Computer literacy, including thorough working knowledge of web browsers, MS Office, etc. * Familiarity with and/or willingness to work with other web design.
