Position Type : 100%% FTE Description : Chubbs New York City office is recruiting for a Senior Marine Underwriter. An Underwriter in Chubb Marine Underwriters (CMU) manages a $6M+ book of business for New York City Brokers and Agents. The books consists of marine insureds including both ocean and inland marine lines of coverage. The underwriter will market to producers to generate new business submissions and handles renewals. The underwriter will create business plans for and manage assigned broker relationships in order to achieve profit, growth, retention and rate objectives. The underwriter will work closely with other members the commercial underwriting teams, underwriting associates, Claims and Loss Control. A qualified candidate will have: Experience underwriting ocean or inland marine insurance; experience with NYC marine brokers and agents, excellent marketing, negotiation, communication, interpersonal and time management skills; experience developing marketing plans and handling complex accounts.
