What are the job responsibilities? Team Management: * Manager of (5) senior and junior portfolio specialists. Management and monitoring of staff; chair regular meetings; promote quality and consistency * Coordinate with portfolio specialist counterparts in Fixed Income and Multi-Asset Strategy areas. * Global trend spotting within market of "best practices" in investment management marketing * Budgets; objective setting and reviews * Training on teams investment, client, and marketing skills * Recruit and develop staff * Ensure on time reporting for all strategies Investment Process and Process Presentation: * Maintain and update quarterly the Model Presentations, Process Descriptions, Product Profiles, Mailers and Wrappers * Editorial review & contribution to process presentation in all literature including sales aids and RFPs * Centralise and report on Consultant / Client / client service & business development feedback on process and presentations * Develop summaries of the distinguishing characteristics and features of the various products within competitive universes for all geographic markets and distribution channels * Initiate and maintain "Question & Answer" file for finals and presentations Reporting: * Co-ordinate with the Investment Team, edit and publish timely quarterly reporting templates for the major products or policy bands * Ensure that performance information (composites and representative accounts) in global format is updated quarterly in all materials. * Assist Investment Team in explaining sources of performance and addressing performance issues Product Specialist: * Interface with investment teams to understand investment offerings in order to maintain and advance competitive position. Provide strategic recommendations for new products. Serve as feedback mechanism from the marketplace to the investment process. * Travel when necessary to visit important clients in their places of business outside of the office, representing portfolio management. * Deliver credible and persuasive presentations and speeches to clients/prospects in one-on-one committee, group and large audience settings. * Communicate regularly with the fundamental and quantitative portfolio teams the needs of institutional and retail clients and prospects with regard to investment policy, strategy, process, risk considerations, portfolio characteristics, and results. * Oversee the design, content, and updates of all investment marketing presentations and materials. * Create and/or maintain a detailed written account of the investment process, philosophy, and portfolio construction methodologies. * Serve as resource for RFPs pertaining to the investment discipline and the positioning of investment products in the marketplace. * Develop tools to help portfolio teams communicate and present consistent investment messages. * Oversee the preparation of materials and coach portfolio managers in their presentations to institutional and intermediary clients. * Conduct specific ad hoc project-oriented duties related to building the investment management department. Sales and Marketing: * Serve as primary technical product expert in their specific investment strategy for the Institutional and Retail sales and service teams, including new business finals presentations, site visits, product selections, investment reviews, product launches, and conference calls. * Conduct periodic investment training for sales and marketing professionals in Institutional and Retail sales channels. * Position specific investment products against competition. * Track opportunities in the marketplace and identify investment trends. * Maintain institutional caliber presentation books to be used by both marketing and investment professionals.
