Position Description: Senior of Financial Reporting

Objective We are seeking a Senior of Financial Reporting â?? AIG Capital Corporation (â? AIGCCâ Y) within the Financial Services division of AIG. AIGCC is a wholly owned subsidiary of AIG which engages in diversified activities, including aircraft finance, consumer finance, asset management and other finance services. Primary responsibilities include consolidation and production of financial statements; participation in quarterly and annual audits; research; and ad hoc projects. Responsibilities ï- Consolidation and preparation of AIGCCâ?s financial statements assuring compliance with US GAAP. ï- Research of technical accounting issues related to the AIGCC. ï- Monitor the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies (i.e.; FASB, SEC, AICPA, EITF, etc.) and evaluate the effect on the AIGCC. ï- Develop and improve of accounting policies and procedures. ï- Liaison with AIG accounting personnel on accounting issues and the application of Company policy. ï- Participate in external reporting and ensure public disclosure is complete and accurate. ï- Consult with external auditors on accounting matters as required. ï- Develop SOX procedures. ï- Special projects may be assigned from time to time. Accountabilities ï- Given the current Sarbanes - Oxley environment, attention to detail and a focus on process and control documentation are critical. ï- Ability to maintain existing reports structure as well as ability to develop new reports as required. ï- Ensure all reports are submitted accurately and on time. ï- Strong documentation of process and procedures. Working Relationships ï- Report to AIGCCâ?s Manager of Financial Reporting. ï- Interact with AIGCC entities, Business Unit and Divisional Corporate Controllers, and Financial Services Division personnel.
Required Competency Attributes ï- The candidate must have a degree in Accounting. ï- CPA preferred. ï- Minimum of 3-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting and/or financial services industry. ï- SEC experience a plus. ï- Understanding of financial statement composition. ï- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Excel skills are a required. ï- Excellent organizational skills. ï- The ability to work as a team player as well as being a motivated self-starter. ï- Possess the ability to perform well in a deadline-oriented environment.
