KPMGs Construction Tax Planning Practice consists of a suite of strategies intended to assist taxpayers in accelerating tax deductions through integration of architectural and engineering experience, cost estimating techniques and the application of federal income tax rules. Responsibilities: . Investigate EPAct 2005 energy efficiency and other LEED tax incentives and credits . Review architectural and engineering drawings and specifications, construction cost budgets, and contractor pay applications . Interview architects, engineers and other consultants to identify design criteria, owners requirements, and assets specific to the taxpayers business activities . Coordinate and prepare accelerated tax depreciation studies for various facilities including offices, hotels, and manufacturing facilities . Analyze cost data and building specifications and drawings to determine appropriate classification of various assets . Meet with clients for gathering information and providing updates Qualifications: . Two years of experience as an architectural or mechanical/electrical designer for commercial building construction with a degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering or Architecture preferred . Ability to interact with architects and engineers in other KPMG offices in an assurance and tax services organization . Familiarity with building systems and the design and construction processes . Background in Accounting and/or Finance, especially in relation to understanding time value of money concepts . Ability to learn the federal income tax aspects of commercial construction projects KPMG offers and supports flexible work arrangements as well as part-time schedules.
