Description: Posting Job Title Security Officer - New York TimeWarner Division Turner Broadcasting Location United States - New York - New York Requisition # 104344BR Position Type Full Time Posting Job Description Qualifications: Must possess a high school diploma or GED; be able to read and write in order to review and complete required incident reports and perform various record-keeping activities at a level normally acquired through completion of high school. Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid vehicle operators permit or license. Should possess the interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with a variety of TBS employees, tenants, and visitors, sometimes under potentially stressful situations. Previous military experience preferred. Prior proprietary Corporate Security experience is desirable. Candidates with Police Officer or Corrections experience, particularly those trained to carry a weapon will be preferred. First-Aid training is helpful. Duties: The responsibilities of TBS Security include the physical protection of TBS Properties world-wide, facilitating the security concerns and needs of TBS employees and Turner property tenants, and investigating a variety of suspected and known criminal acts involving property losses and damage. Patrols assigned areas of facilities or grounds according to established schedule(s) and investigates unusual occurrences; writes incident reports on actual or potential loss of Company, employee, tenant, or visitor property through fire, theft, or vandalism. Interviews victims, witnesses, and suspects. Responds to emergency situations of various types at all TBS locations. Responses may include activities such as crowd control, physical intervention, and other similar activities. Performs security inspection tours; documents and notifies appropriate personnel of problems, as necessary. Questions or detains suspicious individuals or criminal violators on TBS property. Manages unruly, abusive or injurious individuals according to established policies and procedures. Operates the Security Control Center, as needed, and dispatches appropriate personnel to perform security assignments. Mans security checkpoints at TBS in order to screen and control access to priority space. Escorts employees, staff, visitors, and tenants to parking facilities, as requested.
