Job description IBM Supply Chain Architecture is seeking Application Architects to support engagements within the Public Sectors Supply Chain Management Practice Area of IBM Global Business Services. Application Architects work with the client to design applications required to automate business processes and resolve business issues. The resulting design may run on multiple platforms and may be composed of multiple software packages. Application Architects are expected to perform critical evaluation and selection of the software and hardware components of the applications and data, and prepares for the development of the application by evaluation and selection of development methodologies and tools. Application architects are responsible for modeling solutions that include work products such as architecture overview models, use case analysis, component diagrams, class diagrams and interactions, and interface definitions. Knowledge of UML to develop these models is a plus. Application Architects are also responsible for applications related performance, availability, scalability, integrity of the applications as well as the functional interface to the applications. Required * High School Diploma/GED * At least 2 years experience in Java development * At least 1 year experience in J2EE Environment - must understand the development environment, concepts, and web-based multi-tier application architecture * Security clearance of Minimum Background Investigation * Readiness to travel up to 75%%; travelling 5 days a week, home on weekends * U.S. citizenship required * English: Intermediate Preferred * Bachelors Degree * At least 3 years experience in Java development * At least 3 years experience in J2EE Environment - must understand the development environment, concepts, and web-based multi-tier application architecture * At least 3 years experience in some combination of the following technologies: JDBC, SQL, JSP, SOA, Web Services, UML, Oracle and Websphere J2EE application platform development, and Application Framework Design * At least 3 years experience in some combination of the following technologies: .NET architect and development, SAP functional and module understanding, SAP XI, SAP NetWeaver, Maximo Architecte, configuration, and application dev * At least 2 years experience in database design and DBA skills * At least 2 years experience in MQ Series programming * At least 2 years experience in Portlet design and programming * At least 2 years experience in SOMA * At least 2 years experience in WBI * At least 2 years experience in supply chain processes * English : Fluent IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
