Description: Posting Title Sales Director - Media Sales Job State NY : NEW YORK Job City New York Name of Company Nielsen Online (NetRatings and BuzzMetrics) Requisition ID (optional) 8325BR Job Function Sales/Account Management Job Status Full-time Position Description The Director, Client Services - Media & Entertainment practice is responsible for managing and developing key accounts through strategic client consultation and account management. Selling Nielsen Onlines consumer-generated media (CGM) research solutions to assigned accounts in order to meet aggressive topline sales quotas and outstanding client satisfaction are the two primary success metrics for this position. Essential Functions
Client management and consultation. Provide strategic guidance on how to integrate CGM into business processes that align with and contribute to the clients long-term strategic goals and business objectives. Account development. Responsible for topline growth of assigned accounts to meet assigned quota targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and managing a sales pipeline, proposal and contract development and execution, forecasting and sales planning. Delivery supervision and support. Guide analyst teams to ensure that deliverables are of utmost quality and value to client. Ensure client ROI for CGM research and programs. Job Requirements Sales and account planning: Proven track record of planning and meeting sales quotas by successfully selling consultative solutions to Fortune 500 companies. Proactive lead generation. Client consultation, management and day-to-day client service: No less than five years experience in strategic account management. Candidate should illustrate a customer-centric partnership approach with exceptional problem-solving and leadership abilities. Internet Marketing and research analytics: Deep understanding and applied knowledge of either consumer-generated media, Internet marketing and/or traditional market research practices. Media & Entertainment focus: Deep knowledge and passion for existing and emerging Media technologies including broadcast and cable, mobile platforms, online services, etc. Communications: Written and verbal mastery required for everything from proposal development to email communication to leading client seminars and planning sessions is required. Experience leading client presentations to C-level audiences is required.
In addition, the successful candidate will have the following proven experience and characteristics: 5+ years of solution selling success at the enterprise level. Experience selling to Fortune 1000 VP of Marketing, Research & C-level contacts Must have experience personally sourcing and closing $500k+ deals and average $100-150K+ deals. Proven & verifiable track record of sustained over-quota achievement Experience with and knowledge of interactive marketing, digital media sales, market research & basic web technologies. Exceptional desire to win. Capable of providing references from previous managers, peers, and customers Previous experience with
salesforce.com or other CRM system. Education Qualifications Bachelors degree (B.S. / B.A.) from a four-year, accredited college or university required. Masters degree preferred
