Brief Description Position Overview: Oracle Technical Public Sector Sales Consulting - State and Local Government - Eastern Region covers state governments, counties, municipalities, authorities and other government organizations in the Eastern region from Maine to Florida to Texas. This particular role would focus on an Oracle client based in NYC, NY but territory may be expanded at a later date. Detailed Description As a Technical Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day relationship with our public sector client on-site in NYC. As part of the Technical Sales Consulting Team, you will be responsible for ensuring Oracles technical positioning of our complete technology and business application offerings over the competition. You will be responsible for utilizing your Oracle experience and knowledge to troubleshoot and develop solutions for our client using Oracle technologies such as but not limited to Middleware including SOA, BPEL, ESB, BI, Portal, Java and the Oracle database products. In addition, the position will leverage your Content Management and Security/Identity Management products. Prior Peoplesoft Application experience also a plus. Excellent client management, presentation, demonstration, and writing skills required as well as discovery and solution mapping skills. This particular opportunity will require sharp trouble shooting and solution development skills. Previous experience with competitors products preferred. As a Technical Account Manager, you will be responsible for providing presales technical / functional support to our clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction with minimal supervision. Acts as a technical resource for less experienced Sales Consultants. Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions. Design, validate, and present Oracle software solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products. Develop and manage reference sites through high quality technical, professional client relationships. Job Requirements Preferred Qualifications: Job duties are varied and complex requiring independent judgment. May have project lead role. Minimum 5 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. Minimum 5 years relevant computer applications or database/tools. Demonstrated proficiency in at least one multi-user operating system. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. Strong verbal and written communication skills: needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques. Solid technical project management experience necessary. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with accounts in complex technical environments. Ability to travel as required. BS degree or equivalent; advanced degree desirable.
