While the issues we confront are complex, all that we do is united by one simple conviction: Learning is the liberating force in human development. ________________EDC is Committed to Diversity in the Workplace________________ THE POSITION -The Cisco Leading Indicators project and the Teaching American History project in the Center for Children and Technology have a short-term (four months) opening for a full-time Research Assistant (I), in New York City. The Research Assistant will have primary responsibility for: * Coordinating and tracking project activities * Scheduling and conducting data collection * Developing research instruments * Analyzing data * Producing project reports
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- All staff are expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. All jobs require adherence to EDC policies & procedures. Under management oversight, the Research Assistant (I) provides support to qualitative &/or quantitative investigation efforts, including: . research & analysis . drafting . documenting & cataloguing . maintaining records . preparing preliminary recommendations . disseminating information . supporting development and proposal work The Research Assistant (I) . Leads assigned administrative tasks . Facilitates project teamwork; seeks and utilizes feedback . Assists with quality assurance . Provides logistical support . May be expected to travel QUALIFICATIONS- All jobs require educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; strong interpersonal & organizational skills. This position requires: . Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education & experience . Masters degree or equivalent combination of training & education in a related field preferred . 2-4 years related research, education or administrative coordination, requiring experience with computer applications (including databases) and Internet research THIS IS A SHORT-TERM CASUAL POSITION.
