We are currently looking for a Regional Design Manager to join our team. NOTE: This position may be based out any of the following states - OH, MD, VA, PA, NY or the District of Columbia. Position Summary Manages the design and construction documentation for multiple new Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurants in a manner consistent with established trade dress, standards and guidelines, and within established time frames and budgets. This position also supports the Director of Design and all efforts are focused on the continual improvement of design-related programs affecting new and existing Chipotle restaurants.

Main Accountabilities In addition to following Chipotles policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to: Project Start-Up Pre-Design . Responsible for participation in the concept kick-off meeting. . Responsible for timely review, comment and approval of initial cost projection (ICP) sketch packages, schedule and supporting data/information as prepared by the consulting architect. Construction Documentation . Responsible for timely review, comment and approval of the schematic design package as prepared by the consulting architect when necessary. . Remains available for coordination with consulting architect during the completion of the construction documents to ensure consistency with established standards and guidelines, providing information and clarifications as necessary. Schedule . Assists the Construction Manager and consulting architect in schedule management for the design and documentation of multiple new restaurants, each at varying stages in the design development and review process. . Primary responsibility ends for Regional Design Manager at "permit ready". Design with Integrity . Works with Director of Design to create and continually improve all design related efforts including but not limited to: trade dress, visual image, operational characteristics, concept evolution, and sustainability. Standards and Guidelines . Develops and manages Chipotles standards and guidelines for use by all Chipotle employees and outside consultants in concert with the Director of Design and other Regional Design Managers (Design Department). . Works closely with consulting Architects and Engineers to help them better understand, interpret and apply Chipotles standards and guidelines as necessary. . Works closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure the proper integration of their packages with the design and construction of new stores. . Provides clear, consistent communication on a need basis by way of development bulletins through Lucernex. May include direction and/or communication from the Darwin Committee. . Responsible for accuracy, timeliness, and content of prototypical information (drawings, cut sheets, bulletins, and design guides) housed within Lucernex. . When necessary, assists with the research of new products, processes, and materials for consideration in existing and new store development. . Assists with the implementation, management, and analysis of pilot programs and/or test installations. Communicates all findings in clear, concise format for consideration by senior management. . Partners with various departments when appropriate to achieve integrated participation on pilot programs and/or test installations. . May complete other duties as assigned to advance a particular project or resolve a business issue.

Qualifications Education/Training . B.S. or M.S. or the equivalent required Knowledge/Skills . Licensed architect preferred; NCARB certification . Building renovation and investigation . Design and design development . Code conformance . Technical accuracy and coordination . Specification development and maintenance . Product research and analysis . Agency coordination and facilitation . Construction document review and coordination . Engineering consultant coordination . AutoCAD and familiarity with other pertinent computer applications . Highly-developed technical and design skills; thorough attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through . Excellent graphic, verbal, and writing skills with a proven ability to manage and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented context, where timeliness and clarity of intercommunication are critical. Work Experience . 10 years technical and project management experience in the fields of architecture and construction administration.
