Navigant Consulting, Inc. has an opening for a Management Consultant in the Real Estate Valuation group within our Corporate Finance practice, which will be based in New York. Corporate Finance comprises restructuring, transaction advisory, investment banking, and valuation practice areas. Management Consultants perform real estate valuation analyses of individual as well as portfolios of properties of all types including senior housing, office, land, manufacturing and retail. Staff assists Managers perform property inspections, financial analysis, data-gathering, financial projections and report writing for real property appraisals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Management and team participation on a variety of commercial real estate engagements • Complete property inspections throughout the United States • Conduct due diligence with clients • Screen for and analyze comparable transactions • Develop complex modeling in ARGUS and Excel • Prepare client deliverables consisting of Excel models, Word and PowerPoint documents • Assist with proper documentation and quality control of work product • Participate in development of new approaches and methodologies • Complete narrative appraisal reports • Communicate both in writing and orally with clients and their auditors • Project management from sales and marketing, to process inception and planning, to final documentation and deliverables. Knowledge and Skills • 7-10+ years of experience with real estate valuation engagements in a consulting environment or corporate real estate analyses within a real estate investment management group • Experience in purchase price allocation valuations for commercial real estate • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting and real estate valuation principles • Familiarity with USPAP • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills • Comfortable working with financial statements • Possess solid ongoing experience and understanding of Argus or DYNA software • Possesses solid understanding of Word, Excel and Power Point. • Possesses intermediate or above average research skills • Able to balance multiple engagements and personnel with varying deadlines • Able to generate a quality work product in a timely manner while maintaining strong attention to detail • Experience managing large projects and a support team is a plus • MAI designation is a plus • MBA or MSRE preferred Absolute Requirements • Undergraduate degree required, emphasis in Real Estate preferred • General Certified Real Estate Appraisal License required • Possess solid ongoing experience and understanding of Argus or DYNA software • Experience completing commercial investment property real estate appraisals • Ability to travel is a necessity
