Job description Rational PLM Sales Representative Role Definition . The Rational PLM Solution Sales Representative will drive Rational solution sales by calling on LOB executives in the Industrial Sector (Aerospace and Defense, Electronics and Automotive being key industries. This position is a Band 9 or 10. Position Characteristics . Ability to travel (est. 60%%) . Strong teaming capability in a complex sales environment

Position Skill Requirements . Industry Experience: ? Experience and understanding of target industries and their processes/operations: ? Automotive ? Aerospace and defense ? Electronics ? Understanding of business issues and industry trends within the product development organization ? Understanding of the software development domain and how it relates to the mechanical and electronic design domains ? Line of Business sales experience across the product development lifecycle . Consultative Sales Experience: ? Consultative solution sales experience with ability to drive a "C" level conversation around business issues, solving problems, and driving value ? Ability to develop or support development of a solution business case ? Proven ability to work with systems integrators, IBM GBS, Software Lab Services, etc ? Executive relationship building

Sales Experience: ? Demonstrated success and track record of selling PLM solutions across multiple product development domains (mechanical, electronic and software) ? 3+ years experience and over quota performance selling software development solutions ? Knowledge of Rational brand software portfolio a plus ? Ability to team with multiple parts of the IBM extended sales teamswork and leverage each appropriately (Services, Client Executives, Sector Executives, etc) Required * At least 3 years experience in Applying Knowledge of SPLC (Software Product Life Cycle) In an IT/Sales Environment * At least 6 months experience in Developing Competitive Software Sales Strategy * Readiness to travel up to 50%%; travelling 3-4 days a week, home on weekends * English: Fluent Preferred * Bachelors Degree in Engineering * At least 5 years experience in Applying Knowledge of SPLC (Software Product Life Cycle) In an IT/Sales Environment * At least 5 years experience in Developing Competitive Software Sales Strategy * Basic knowledge in Rational PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Additional information IBM Sales and Distribution develops, integrates, sells and distributes IBMs unparalleled array of products and services.
