Description: Publishing Web Designer AutoReqId 92708BR Responsibilities American Express Publishing seeks a talented web designer to design and maintain the websites of Travel+Leisure and Food & Wine. Design and usability are essential elements of our brands, so were looking for someone who can dazzle us with their stylish, inspiring designs and is not afraid to code and implement their own work. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, a problem-solver, and someone who relishes a leadership role to ensure design consistency across the sites. You must have strong portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for design and elegant typography, as well as hands-on experience designing for large editorial websites in the travel, food, or lifestyle categories. - Create and extend the magazine brands online into an attractive, easy-to-use format through a visual style, color palettes, typography, and iconography - Work with editorial and production staff to create visual looks and feels for editorial packages and promotions and create original graphics - Design new features and functionality. Develop concepts and implement ideas rapidly into wireframes, proof of concepts and XHTML prototypes - Consult and work closely with development team on implementing page designs and functionality. Solve usability issues and analyze and improve user experience - Create an efficient workflow between designers, producers and developers. Develop processes to improve workflow between the magazine and online design departments - Document design best practices through style guides, typography specs, and color palettes - Act as the design liaison with magazines. Initiate and manage design reviews with online and magazine design teams. Lead design reviews with external creative agencies as needed - Assign and coordinate original illustrations as needed - Manage intern design-related duties as needed - Perform other job related duties EOE statement American Express is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
