Conducts a public relations program designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for NY1 and NY1 Noticias. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Prepares and distributes news releases, media kits, photographs, or tape recordings to media representatives and other persons who may be interested in learning about or publicizing the stations activities or message. .Keeps informed on breaking news stories, special events to find PR material and writes factual, concise and interesting releases. .Keeps TV listings up to date. .Maintains PR materials. .Scans and monitors newspapers, trade magazines, online, television and radio media for mentions of the stations. .Acts as liaison between general public and the stations. .Represents stations during community projects and at public, social and business gatherings. .Screens Public Service Announcements for both stations .Maintains Media Directory and Media Lists. .Collects and submits programming for professional recognitions awards. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Education: BA, preferably in Journalism or Media. Experience: Two to three years related experience. Established relationships with outside media preferred.
