Position Purpose: . Financial and Management reporting of the FIC Trading Businesses with primary emphasis on Municipal Sales & Trading and Underwriting (MSTU) and Muni Banking (MB). Key Accountabilities: . Prepare daily profit and loss analysis for MSTU & MB. . Ensure that the reported P&L is reconciled to the Income Statement. . Reconcile and substantiate trading related asset and liability accounts. . Work closely with the individual traders and the desk heads on a day-to-day basis to understand the products and the systems that support the various inventories. . Ensure that daily P&L is approved by the Front Office and that issues are investigated, resolved or escalated. . Maintain applications and processes to compute and report the daily statement of profit and loss including trading and revenue booking on a deal basis for debt origination/underwriting. . Assist with completion of audits, regulatory examinations and SOX reviews. Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): Required: . Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance . 2 to 5 years experience in the financial services industry or public accounting . Accounting knowledge of financial products including income statement analysis, balance sheet substantiation and the inter-relationship between income statement and balance sheet. . Working knowledge of fixed Income securities and related products/hedges (including municipal debt securities and derivatives). . Experience in the process flow, settlement and account maintenance of debt origination and syndicate activity. . Excellent communication and inter-personal skills . Strong analytical and problem solving skills and ability to innovate/develop controls and production efficiencies

Preferred: . CPA, MBA or accounting degrees are valued credentials . Expertise with spreadsheets and databases, including macro and advanced formula writing.
