This position is a virtual office position requiring some travel (up to 25%%) and will require extensive in-person customer interaction. There are multiple openings in the US, in various regions. Responsibilities * Ensure revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of prospect/customer satisfaction. * The Pre-Sales Engineer functions as a technical point of contact for prospects, customers, partners and sales team. * Develop and implement the technical sales strategies to help ensure firm’s objectives are met. * Position and present the firm’s products, services, solutions and technical proposals to prospects and existing customers. * Lead the gathering of technical requirements, and resulting architecture and solutions design. * Presentation of solutions to meet the prospects needs. * Research and write the responses to technical sections of RFI/RFPs. * Drive and support pre-sales pilots, demonstrations, PoCs (Proof of Concept), evaluation and benchmarks. Educational, Experience and Skills requirements * Pre-Sales Engineers must possess a blend of personal communications and technical skills, including: * Comfortable with solution selling process in enterprise software market. * Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. * Excellent written, oral communication, and be proficient in presentation and client facing skills. * Advanced knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and databases. * Basic knowledge of networking and complex software integration. * Ability to work in the field in remote offices, and be self-managing with excellent time management skills. * Self-disciplined and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Proficient, well-rounded experience in technical consultative selling up to C level executives. * Knowledgeable with open source technologies. * College degree or equivalent. * Minimum 3 years experience in a revenue-producing, customer-facing technical role such Pre-Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect. * Exceptional candidates with 5+ years in Post-Sales customer-facing roles with P&L, customer retention or revenue-growing (i.e. “farming”) role supporting Enterprise accounts will also be considered. * US Citizen * 2+ years experience in Linux/UNIX system administration, systems integration, or systems/ software development helpful. * A B.A. or B.S. is preferred but not required.
