Description: Job Title Pre-Production Manager - Footwear Business Sears Holdings Management Corporation State/City NY New York Job Summary Responsible for sampling within cost parameters of the business strategy, as well as research and development of feasible leather, synthetics, fabrics and components, according to design vision. Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements . Coordinate with design and HK to sample according to global sourcing strategy. . Initiate new/seasonal development on leathers, synthetics, fabrics and components to meet division objectives. . Negotiate initial costs with vendors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality. . Monitor new industry trends in leather, synthetics, fabrics, components/techniques and competitive analysis. . Provide mill/vendor recommendations to Production. Feedback on mill performance in regards to product development. . Coordinate pre-production package and provide input on material details, initial costs, materials compliance, etc to design and development. . Coordinate the transfer of ownership of production details to sourcing. . Assess business partners and provide input to material database to sourcing. . Coordinate sample development process to ensure that samples are produced and delivered on a timely basis. . Coordinate with design and HK to develop product that meets designs vision and margin/cost parameters established in the line development plan. . Build and maintain materials and component library. . Assist with style, fit corrections, and follow through on prototypes. . Maintain information for mini walls and communicate change to HK development team. . Coordinate sample projections and calendar internal sample process. . Database management.
